About the JCCO

The JCCO is an inclusive and participatory Jewish community that honors the diversity of our Jewish heritage, linking modern life to the ancient traditions of our people by providing opportunities for Jewish education, spiritual growth, and worship in Central Oregon.

Our services take place at our Synagogue, Shalom Bayit. We have respect for all branches and pathways of Judaism, and our services often have a traditional feel with non-traditional content.

We are proud to be a growing and active Jewish community with a permanent part-time Rabbi, Shabbat services several times a month, a religious school offering youth and adult education, and many family activities.

JCCO offerings include:

• Friday night and Saturday Shabbat services
• Havdalah services
• Holiday celebrations
• Youth and adult Jewish education
• Adult liturgy classes
• Torah study
• Women’s discussion group
• Monthly newsletter

Newsletter

The newsletter of the Jewish Community of Central Oregon is published monthly. The subscription rate is $35 per year for non-members, and free to JCCO members, but you are welcome to request a copy.

Childcare

Your children are welcome! We love kids at JCCO, and there is a play room with toys available at Shalom Bayit Synagogue. Parents are responsible for supervising their children. We suggest that parents bring books, stickers or other appropriate toys to entertain their children during services.

Memorial Wall

Memorial Plaques for the JCCO Memorial are available to honor loved ones’ Yahrzeits and to support the JCCO. Please contact Ron Ruby for prices and ordering information.
